A 40-year-old woman has been arrested after police allegedly found more than one kilogram of heroin in her possession during a stop-and-search at a bus stop in Ano Liosia, western Athens. According to the Hellenic Police (EL.AS.), officers carrying out patrols under the “Ariadni” policing operation across bus routes in Western Attica identified the woman as behaving suspiciously on the afternoon of July 22 and conducted a search. Police said they discovered 1 kilogram and 116 grams of heroin inside a backpack she was carrying.

Authorities arrested the woman and transferred her to the Western Attica Sub-Directorate for Crime Investigation, where officers filed charges against her for alleged violations of Greece’s narcotics laws.
