Police did not attend near-drowning until two hours after first Triple Zero call

In January, David Mason nearly drowned in waters off the north-west coast of Tasmania. Despite multiple Triple Zero calls placed by bystanders to report the emergency, police did not arrive at the scene until two hours after the initial request for assistance was made.
