Kaylee, 6, was last seen near Dundas Street E. Police say they're unable to locate the girl's mother, and that the father isn't cooperating with investigators The Durham Regional Police Service (DRPS) are asking for the public’s assistance in locating a missing six-year-old girl who was last observed over the weekend in Peel Region with a man who is known to her father.

Police say Kaylee, 6, was last seen at approximately 12:10 a.m. 4, in the area of Dundas Street East and Thickson Road in Whitby. She officially went missing on Saturday, Oct.

DRPS Constable Nick Gluckstein told reporters at a press conference on Tuesday that Kaylee was with her father over the weekend, who then left his daughter with his male associate, identified as 48-year-old Blair Hamilton. Gluckstein says Kaylee was last spotted in Peel Region on Sunday with that man. Kaylee was reported missing on Monday evening following concerns from a third-party known to Hamilton and the missing girl’s grandfather.

Gluckstein says Kaylee’s father has not been coordinating with police, and authorities have been unable to reach her mother. “We have since spoken to the father, and, unfortunately, he has been uncooperative with us, which adds to our frustration,” he said. “Those circumstances are why this investigation took so long to come forward to police.” Gluckstein said police must believe that an abduction has taken place before issuing an Amber Alert.

“At this time, we are treating this investigation as a missing person,” Gluckstein said. “We are aware of who the father is, which is why we were able to contact the father and speak to him.” When asked if Hamilton was known to police, Gluckstein said that authorities had previously been in contact with him, leading to his identification. “Investigators have conducted major searches in areas where Kaylee may have been seen,” the police constable said.

“Investigators are working to locate and speak with Kaylee’s mother.” Investigators describe Kaylee as a white female, standing approximately four feet tall with a slim build, long blonde hair and blue eyes. She was last seen wearing a purple jacket with a hood featuring a flower print on the inside, pink pants, and black, white and red shoes. Anyone who has seen Kaylee or has information about her whereabouts is being urged to contact Durham Regional Police at 905-579-1520.
