New York murder suspect shot and killed by police in Western Mass.

A man wanted in connection with the stabbing death of his girlfriend in Long Island, New York, was shot and killed by police in Erving Wednesday night, prosecutors said.Massachusetts State Police learned the man might be in the state around 7 p.m., when New York State Police alerted them that he could be at the French King Motel in Erving, Worcester County District Attorney Joe Early said at a Thursday afternoon press conference. Police shot and killed a murder suspect Wednesday in a Western Massachusetts town. Massachusetts State Police were assisting in an out-of-state homicide investigation when they located the suspect at a motel in Erving, according to a state police statement.

At the scene, troopers and local police officers encountered the suspect. During the encounter, the suspect was fatally shot.
