Energy policy or sectoral policy, do biofuels make sense?

The current media landscape presents two distinct developments regarding energy policy and international economic relations. In the context of global energy strategy, historical efforts to promote biofuels—initiated by Europe in 2003—are being re-examined in light of their original goals: energy security, climate change mitigation, and agricultural development. These efforts emerged during a period when fossil fuels accounted for 86% of energy consumption.

Simultaneously, Venezuelan leadership has announced a shift toward strengthening the nation’s status as a global oil producer. Following the signing of approximately fifty agreements and a significant pact with the United States, Venezuelan authorities expect these developments to stabilize the global economy and bolster their domestic financial standing.
