Polling stations open in Brazil for some 160 million voters

Polling stations across Brazil opened on Sunday for approximately 160 million eligible voters participating in the country's elections. Voting takes place nationwide from 8:00 to 17:00 Brasília time.

Because Brazil utilizes a digital voting system, election officials expect the first official results to be released within three hours of polls closing.
