The Cuban government has initiated a decentralization process, transferring new administrative powers to municipal authorities as part of a broader economic reform strategy. Prime Minister Manuel Marrero announced that the state has implemented 158 of the 176 economic and social reforms approved in June, representing 89% of the total package. This transition is supported by the enactment of 197 new legal regulations.

The reforms are intended to restructure the national economy and improve local governance by shifting decision-making authority to the municipal level.
