Why Huitzilac is part of the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico as of today

Effective Wednesday, the municipality of Huitzilac has been officially incorporated into the Metropolitan Area of the Valley of Mexico (ZMVM). This transition follows the formal publication of the declaration in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF) on Tuesday, September 25.

The inclusion of Huitzilac marks a formal expansion of the metropolitan zone. While the integration was previously announced, the publication in the DOF serves as the final administrative step to solidify the municipality's new status within the region.
