Powerful 7.6-magnitude earthquake hits Panama and triggers tsunami warnings

Local footage showed a cathedral collapsing and a hotel facade falling onto a car in Penonomé, central Panama.

No casualties were immediately reported. A strong 7.6 magnitude earthquake struck near the southern ​coast ‌of Panama ⁠on Friday at a 10 km depth, ‌according to the US Geological ⁠Survey, shaking buildings as far away as the capital and prompting evacuations.
