Powerful storm hits Baltic countries, killing 2 and leaving hundreds of thousands without power

A powerful cyclone struck the Baltic region over the weekend, bringing heavy rain and strong winds that resulted in two deaths. The severe weather system affected Latvia and Lithuania starting Saturday and continuing into Sunday morning.

In addition to the fatalities, the storm left approximately half a million people across the two countries without electricity.
