Héctor Cúper has departed from his role as manager of Universitario de Deportes following a loss to Deportivo Garcilaso. His physical trainer, Zacarías Gaggero, also resigned from the club as part of the coaching staff's exit from the Peruvian team.

Prior to leaving Peru, Gaggero addressed the departure, characterizing the decision as a gesture intended to benefit the club. He stated that the coaching staff believed the organization would be in a better position without their continued involvement.
