Kampar MP Chong Zhemin said PN election director Sanusi Nor's alleged statement at a ceramah in Jempol last night was insulting to millions of Malaysians of Chinese and Indian descent.PETALING JAYA: A DAP MP has called on the authorities to investigate alleged remarks by Perikatan Nasional election director Sanusi Nor that Malaysian Chinese and Indians have other countries whereas "the Malays only have Tanah Melayu".Kampar MP Chong Zhemin said Sanusi’s alleged statement at a ceramah in Jempol, Negeri Sembilan, last night was insulting to millions of Malaysians of Chinese and Indian descent who were born, raised, and built their lives in the country.Chong accused Sanusi, who is also the Kedah menteri besar, of using race relations as an election strategy, and warned that such rhetoric could foster hostility between communities and threaten national harmony.“He is taking Malaysian politics in a highly dangerous direction by dividing citizens between those he claims have only one country and those portrayed as having another country elsewhere,” he said in a statement.“We are not citizens of China or India. We have only one country, live under one Jalur Gemilang, and pledge our loyalty to Malaysia alone.“Our ancestors helped build this nation. Generation after generation has worked, paid taxes, served society, and defended Malaysia’s interests.“No political leader has the right to question our loyalty or claim that we belong to another country merely because of our ethnicity or skin colour.”Chong also called on Barisan Nasional leaders, particularly those from MCA and MIC, to clarify their positions as the remarks were allegedly made at a joint BN-PN political rally. He said remaining silent in the face of such rhetoric would only create more space for political extremism to grow.He also called on Sanusi to withdraw his remarks and apologise.
