The Salvadoran government announced that a pilot program utilizing artificial intelligence and technology successfully elevated 171 public schools in the country to academic performance levels comparable to developed nations in PISA assessments. According to Karla Trigueros, the Minister of Education, Science and Technology, these participating schools achieved reading, mathematics, and science scores that exceeded general regional averages.

Simultaneously, regional reports analyzing PISA 2025 outcomes highlight broader educational landscapes in Latin America and the Caribbean. While the pilot program in El Salvador demonstrates significant localized advancements through technological intervention, general regional results across Europe, Latin America, and the Caribbean continue to face persistent challenges and stagnant scores, as observed in parallel assessments such as those in the Dominican Republic.
