Pronacej denies “VIP” treatment to teenagers at the Naval High School in Maranguita and assures that they receive the same conditions as other inmates

The National Program of Juvenile Centers (Pronacej) has officially denied allegations that six adolescents detained at the Lima Juvenile Diagnosis and Rehabilitation Center, commonly known as Maranguita, are receiving preferential treatment. The minors, who are under preventive detention in connection with an ongoing investigation involving the Almirante Guise Naval Lyceum, are facing scrutiny following claims of special accommodations.

Contradicting the official stance, an educator at the Maranguita facility publicly alleged that the detained students were receiving distinct advantages. According to the whistleblower's report, these supposed privileges included triple visiting hours, exclusive surveillance, and isolated housing separate from the general population of inmates.

In response to these accusations, Pronacej issued a formal denial, maintaining that all individuals held at the facility are subjected to identical rules and conditions. The agency's statement firmly rejects the notion of any "VIP" treatment for the naval school adolescents as the legal proceedings and the internal facility management continue to draw public attention.
