Proposal to pump 70m litres of treated wastewater into Parramatta River

A proposal has been submitted to discharge 70 million litres of treated wastewater into the Parramatta River daily. The project aims to support Sydney's growing population by managing the increased demand for wastewater processing infrastructure.

The volume of discharge is equivalent to 35 Olympic-sized swimming pools. The project remains subject to official approval before it can proceed.
