PSNI liaising with gardaí in relation to on-the-run murderer who failed to return to prison

Police Service of Northern Ireland (PSNI) authorities are actively liaising with An Garda Síochána in the Republic of Ireland in a joint effort to apprehend Gary Anderson, a convicted murderer who has gone on the run after failing to return to prison.

Anderson was originally sentenced to a 15-year prison term in 2023 for the killing of a father-of-five. His recent failure to return to custody has triggered a cross-border manhunt and coordination between law enforcement agencies in both jurisdictions.
