The government of Puerto Rico has reached a settlement with Meta, the parent company of Facebook and Instagram, totaling approximately 124.7 million dollars. The agreement, announced on Wednesday by the Secretary of the Department of Justice, Lourdes L. Gómez, follows allegations that the company’s platforms contributed to social media addiction among minors.

This financial resolution addresses legal concerns regarding the impact of Meta's digital products on younger users.
