Despite the mandates established under Article 222 of Law 176-07, which governs the District National and municipalities, citizens lack access to the decision-making processes of local council members.

This lack of disclosure hinders public oversight and accountability within local government bodies. The ongoing discrepancy between legislative obligations and the information currently provided by these ayuntamientos limits the ability of residents to monitor how their municipal representatives are exercising their authority.
