On September 2, Mexico's Senate ratified the appointment of Cristina Planter Riebeling as the new Undersecretary for North America within the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs (SRE).

In this role, Planter Riebeling will lead political and economic affairs governing Mexico's official relationship with the North American region.
