Reacting to the results in a televised address, the Punjab chief minister said the PPP's response was disappointing, adding that instead of accepting its defeat in the spirit of democracy, the party had resorted to issuing statements and expressing anger.

The prime minister congratulated you and supported you in forming the government,” the chief minister said, adding that when the PPP won the Gilgit-Baltistan elections, there were no allegations of rigging, but when it was badly defeated in the AJK elections, it accused the polls of being rigged.
Referring to the PPP's election rallies, she said they were all empty, although that was not necessarily a symbol of success, and added that the party should have worked on its narrative and performance. “You had no narrative, no programme for the people of AJK, no reform agenda for AJK, no performance to show, and no record of governance,” she added. Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah on Tuesday described the first phase of the Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) Legislative Assembly elections as "peaceful, fair, free and credible", while inviting opposition parties to pursue constitutional and legal remedies if they wished to challenge the results. Addressing a joint press conference alongside Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Amir Muqam in Islamabad, Sanaullah said the people of AJK had exercised their democratic right by electing representatives on 13 seats during polling held on July 27. Citing Election Commission figures, he said the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) won nine seats, while the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) secured four.
"The elections were peaceful, fair, free and credible," Sanaullah said, praising the Election Commission, the AJK administration and law enforcement agencies for ensuring orderly polling despite what he described as a challenging security environment. He said opposition parties were free to pursue constitutional remedies if they believed electoral irregularities had occurred.
