DODOMA: DODOMA Regional Commissioner Rosemary Senyamule has urged young people to embrace patriotism, unity and selfless service to build a legacy worthy of being remembered among the nation’s heroes. Speaking shortly after lighting the Heroes Torch at the Heroes Monument in Mtumba ahead of National Heroes Day commemorations on Saturday, Ms Senyamule said every citizen has an opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the country’s peace, unity and development. She said the sacrifices made by the nation’s heroes should in – spire citizens, particularly young people, to dedicate themselves to serving the nation and humanity.
“If one day you are remembered among our national heroes, it means you devoted your life to serving others, your country and your fellow citizens. That is the lesson we should all learn, especially young people. Although our heroes are gone, their legacy lives on and remains part of our nation’s history,” she said.
Ms Senyamule said the country’s heroes dedicated their time, strength and lives to safe – guarding the nation, urging citizens to emulate their patriotism by putting national interests ahead of personal gain. She said Tanzania continues to produce patriotic leaders whose service deserves recognition, citing President Samia Suluhu Hassan’s contribution to the country’s development. “Our President has demonstrated exceptional commitment to serving the nation.
The trans – formation taking place across the country, including here in Mtumba and Dodoma, reflects visionary leadership and dedication to improving the lives of wananchi,” she said.
