The Dominican Republic will take the renewal of international force in Haiti to the UN.

The Dominican Republic will once again bring the security situation in Haiti before the United Nations. Foreign Minister Víctor “Ito” Bisonó announced on Sunday that the country will advocate for the renewal of the mandate for the Gang Suppression Force (GSF).

The diplomatic initiative highlights the Dominican Republic's ongoing regional involvement concerning its neighboring nation's security challenges. By pressing for the continuation of international intervention forces at the UN, the Dominican government seeks to maintain global focus and operational support in addressing the gang violence affecting Haiti.
