The Dominican Republic will take the renewal of international force in Haiti to the UN.

The Dominican Republic will once again bring the security situation in Haiti before the United Nations. Foreign Minister Víctor “Ito” Bisonó announced on Sunday that the country will advocate for the renewal of the mandate for the Gang Suppression Force (GSF).

The diplomatic initiative highlights the Dominican Republic's ongoing regional involvement concerning its neighboring nation's security challenges. By pressing the UN to maintain international security forces in Haiti, Santo Domingo continues to seek global intervention to address the ongoing crisis.
