The Dominican Republic will take the renewal of international force in Haiti to the UN.

The Dominican Republic will bring the security situation in Haiti back before the United Nations, advocating specifically for the renewal of the mandate for the international Gang Suppression Force (GSF). The initiative was announced on Sunday by Foreign Minister Víctor “Ito” Bisonó.

The diplomatic push highlights the Dominican Republic's ongoing involvement and concern regarding regional security and the ongoing gang crisis in neighboring Haiti, utilizing the UN platform to press for continued international security intervention.
