Appeal to the Constitutional Court regarding the Penal Code

The Dominican Association of Teachers (ADP) announced on Tuesday that it is preparing a formal challenge to be filed with the Constitutional Court regarding the nation's new Penal Code. The union intends to contest specific articles within the legislation that it claims could negatively impact the teaching profession.

According to the ADP, these provisions pose a risk of increased judicialization of academic activities. The union maintains that the contested articles could hinder the exercise of teaching duties, prompting them to seek legal intervention to address these concerns.
