Red Eléctrica is committed to continuing to strengthen the system even with the Almaraz extension

Red Eléctrica announced on August 14 in Madrid that the planned extension of the Almaraz nuclear power plant in Cáceres until 2030 benefits the electrical system and its operation. However, the company maintains that additional mechanisms remain necessary to boost the availability of firm generation and deployment.

Separately, Venezuela's state-owned PDVSA announced plans to incorporate methane gas into its thermoelectric system by the end of the year. According to the company's vice president of gas, Jannier Vi, the initiative aims to increase supply as part of a broader plan to deliver approximately 2 billion cubic feet of gas to the domestic market by December.
