Rego estimates there are 2,100 migrant children in Ceuta and calls on the autonomous communities to take responsibility for their transfer to the mainland.

The Minister of Youth and Children, Sira Rego, stated on Saturday that there are approximately 2,100 migrant children registered in the reception system in Ceuta, including 700 girls, many of whom are very young. Rego called for responsibility from autonomous communities and urged the transfer of these minors to the Spanish Peninsula to alleviate the strain on the autonomous city.

During her statements, Rego also criticized Juanma Moreno, the president of the Junta de Andalucía, accusing him of breaking a bilateral agreement with Ceuta by refusing to host migrant minors in the Andalusian community.
