Israeli policies threaten 'life and existence' of Palestinians, Abbas tells UN

Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas addressed the UN General Assembly on Thursday by video after being denied a visa to the United States for the second year in a row. In his prerecorded speech, he denounced Israeli policies that he said threatened Palestinians with a new Nakba and vowed that his people would remain “on their land”. Palestinian president Mahmud Abbas told the UN on Thursday that Israeli policies no longer just jeopardized a two-state solution but were now threatening the "very life and existence" of his people.

Abbas delivered prerecorded remarks to the UN’s General Assembly from his office in Ramallah after the United States denied him and other top Palestinian officials visas to attend the gathering for the second year in a row.
