The Dominican Republic plans to launch an instant payments platform in the first half of 2027.

The Central Bank of the Dominican Republic (BCRD) has announced the development of a new Instant Payment Management System (SGPI), scheduled to launch during the first half of 2027. This digital infrastructure is designed to facilitate real-time fund transfers across the country.

In its initial phase, the platform will support transactions between both individuals and legal entities. Following this rollout, the system is expected to undergo further expansion to incorporate additional capabilities.
