Dominican Republic and the rejection of foreign migrants

During the month of July, the Dominican Republic's General Directorate of Migration denied entry to 116 foreign nationals and designated an additional 28 individuals under a similar restrictive category. These actions were taken in accordance with the national Migration Law, which permits authorities to block entry based on concerns regarding criminality, terrorism, or prior immigration prohibitions.

While the legislation provides a framework for these denials, the current legal language does not explicitly define all criteria for such exclusions. This regulatory ambiguity remains a focal point regarding the application of migration policies at the country's borders.
