Dominican Republic and the rejection of foreign migrants

During the month of July, the General Directorate of Migration in the Dominican Republic rejected 116 foreign nationals and placed an additional 28 individuals into that administrative category. The enforcement action is tied to the country's migration policies and border control measures.

Under the existing Migration Law, authorities are legally permitted to deny entry to foreign nationals based on specific criteria, including suspected ties to criminality, terrorism, and prior legal entry prohibitions. However, the legislation does not expressly define all aspects of the rejection categories utilized by immigration enforcement.
