Restrictions on the use of cell phones in schools

The Dominican Republic's Ministry of Education (Minerd) has mandated that all educational centers establish formal protocols regarding the use of mobile devices. Schools have been given a deadline of two weeks to integrate these regulations into their institutional policies.

In response to the directive, several private schools have already begun implementing measures to restrict cellular phone usage. Meanwhile, public schools are currently in the process of consulting on the implementation of these new guidelines as the deadline approaches.
