Restrictions on the use of cell phones in schools

Private schools in the Dominican Republic have begun implementing measures to restrict mobile phone use, operating ahead of a looming deadline set by the Ministry of Education (Minerd). The initiative comes as educational centers face a two-week window to officially incorporate specific protocols regarding mobile devices into their institutions.

While several private colleges and schools have already moved forward with restrictions, public schools are concurrently reviewing and consulting on their own implementation strategies. The Ministry's mandate aims to regulate technology usage across the nation's educational facilities as institutions prepare for compliance before the expiration of the established timeframe.
