Revealed: Over 150,000 more patients on hospital waiting lists since Government took office

Hospital waiting lists in Ireland have grown by over 150,000 patients since the current Government took office. The Irish Medical Organisation (IMO) has criticised what it describes as an annual cycle of under-budgeting within the healthcare system.

In response to the figures, the IMO has issued warnings regarding the urgent need to boost the recruitment of medical consultants to address the mounting backlog and alleviate pressures on hospital services.
