Separately, urban development and safety concerns have been raised regarding the proliferation of vertical constructions in the Greater Santo Domingo area and other provinces in the Dominican Republic. Given the country's ongoing vulnerability to seismic activity, experts emphasize that rigorous structural reviews and strict adherence to safety regulations are critical for these high-rise developments.
