Broward Sheriff’s Office detectives are asking for the public’s help investigating a traffic homicide after a man was found dead on a grassy swale in Pompano Beach.According to BSO, deputies responded to the 700 block of Southwest 10th Drive near Fairview Park shortly after 8 a.m. Sunday after receiving a report of a person lying in the grass.Pompano Beach Fire Rescue personnel also responded and pronounced the victim, identified as Lacurtis Knight, dead at the scene.According to BSO Traffic Homicide Investigations detectives, the man’s injuries were consistent with being struck by a vehicle.Investigators conducted a detailed search of the area where the victim was discovered and said the crash may have happened at a different location.Detectives are now asking anyone who may have information about the traffic homicide to come forward.Anyone with information is asked to contact BSO THI Detective Mike Wiley at 954-321-4841 or submit a tip through the SaferWatch app.Those wishing to remain anonymous can contact Broward Crime Stoppers at 954-493-TIPS (8477), visit BrowardCrimeStoppers.org or dial **TIPS (8477) from any cellphone in the U.S. Crime Stoppers is offering a reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
