Reykjavík Schools Go Phone-Free as New Term Begins Monday

Beginning Monday for the autumn term, Reykjavík primary schools are implementing a new phone-free policy as students return to class. The mandate prohibits the use of mobile phones and comparable smart devices during all school hours.

The restriction covers both instructional time and break periods, including recess and lunch. Devices may only be used during school hours if explicitly permitted by staff.
