Ricardo Monreal does not rule out adjustments to the INE's budget for 2027: he proposes reductions in different areas

Ricardo Monreal, coordinator of the Morena parliamentary group in the Chamber of Deputies, announced on Wednesday that the proposed budget for the National Electoral Institute (INE) will not be approved as currently presented. The 2027 Paquete Económico originally assigned 42,274 million pesos to the electoral body, a figure Monreal indicated is subject to revision.

Monreal stated that the government intends to implement reductions across various budgetary items within the INE. This move reflects an ongoing legislative effort to adjust electoral spending, signaling potential fiscal constraints for the institution in the coming years.
