Riot Games ends League of Legends Classic: it lasted almost three months

World 1 source 1 country 🔦 Under-reported 44m ago

Riot Games has announced the termination of League of Legends Classic, a standalone game mode designed to recreate the original experience of the popular multiplayer online battle arena (MOBA). Support for the mode is scheduled to end on January 6, 2027, bringing its total lifespan to less than three months after its launch in July.

The decision to discontinue the mode, which was introduced to let players experience an older version of the game, follows a decline in engagement as the majority of its user base returned to other modalities of the main title. Regular access to League of Legends Classic will cease concurrently with the conclusion of the third season.
