Robots that participated in the Beijing Games now have to work

The second edition of the World Humanoid Robot Games in Beijing has introduced a new focus on practical labor, moving beyond traditional athletic demonstrations such as running, jumping, and playing soccer. The event now requires participating machines to perform tasks that simulate real-world work environments.

To facilitate this shift, the competition has significantly expanded its scope, increasing the number of task-inspired scenarios from six to twenty. This evolution reflects an effort to test and showcase the functional capabilities of humanoid robots in professional or industrial settings.
