Romania’s Liberal Party opts for reformist alliance’s PM candidate or early elections

Romania’s Liberal Party (PNL), led by interim Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan, has officially declared that it will not participate in a government coalition that includes ministers from the Social Democratic Party (PSD). The party is currently pursuing a strategy to support a prime ministerial candidate from the reformist alliance, effectively setting a condition for the formation of a new administration.

Bolojan has indicated that the party is prepared to move toward early elections if current negotiations regarding the government's composition remain deadlocked.
