Romania to host European Capital of Culture again in 2034, ministry says

Romania is set to host the European Capital of Culture title once again in 2034, following the official calendar announced by the European Commission and confirmed by the Romanian Culture Ministry.

Under the established timeline, competing cities within the country are expected to submit their initial bids in the autumn of 2028. Following this initial phase, the selection process will narrow down the contenders, with the final host city scheduled to be chosen in 2030.
