Türkiye's ruling AK Party expands as 9 new mayors, 6 council members join

The ruling Justice and Development Party (AK Party) in Türkiye has expanded its ranks with the addition of nine new mayors and six municipal council members. The council members, who previously represented the main opposition Republican People’s Party (CHP), transitioned to the ruling party in Istanbul’s Ataşehir district.
