Pension increase of S/3,500 for teachers without regulations and with limited hours: For the Ministry of Economy and Finance it is “too expensive”

Peru has appointed Elmer Cuba, a former director of the Central Reserve Bank of Peru and economist associated with President Keiko Fujimori's economic plan, as the new head of the Ministry of Economy and Financies (MEF).

Under the new leadership, the MEF has evaluated a proposed S/3,500 pension increase for teachers, describing the measure as "too expensive" as it currently lacks regulations and faces an uncertain future.
