Indonesia, as the world's second-largest seaweed producer, is leveraging its vast maritime geography to bolster the seaweed industry. The Sabu Raijua Regency, an outer island region, has emerged as a focal point for this development, utilizing its 134-kilometer coastline and favorable climate to cultivate the commodity. The local industry is supported by the Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (KKP), which has designated seaweed as one of the nation's five priority commodities. This initiative aims to utilize the region's natural potential to enhance economic output and strengthen the domestic seaweed sector.
