Russian crude imports in July highest since Ukraine war

India's crude oil imports from Russia reached a record 2.8 million barrels per day in July, marking the highest volume imported since the start of the Ukraine war. This surge represented more than half of the country's total crude purchases for the month.

Alongside the rise in Russian crude, Indian refiners diversified their procurement by increasing purchases from West Asian suppliers. At the same time, the country's liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) imports showed a strong preference for the United States, which supplied 73 percent of the total LPG imports in July.
