Russian election triggers row with Moldova over voting in separatist region

A diplomatic dispute has erupted between Russia and Moldova following Moscow's plans to open polling stations in the breakaway Transdniestria region for a Russian election. Moldova strongly opposes the measure, highlighting ongoing geopolitical tensions over the political status of the separatist territory.

Despite Moldovan objections, the process moved forward. Russia ultimately opened 27 polling stations across the region, resulting in more than 59,000 voters casting ballots.
