Kenya: Ruto Orders Police to Pursue Politicians Financing Political Violence Ahead of 2027

Kenyan President William Ruto has directed the National Police Service and security agencies to pursue politicians who finance political violence, hire gangs to disrupt meetings, or intimidate opponents ahead of the 2027 general elections. Speaking in Nairobi, the president emphasized that no political objective can justify the use of force or the disruption of peaceful activities.
