Rwanda: Teachers With Secondary Education Given Five Years to Attain A1 Diploma

The Rwandan Ministry of Education has announced a new directive requiring teachers holding secondary education qualifications to upgrade their credentials. Affected educators have been granted a five-year grace period to meet the new standard.

At the conclusion of this transition period, all teaching staff within the scope of the directive are expected to possess at least an A1 diploma. The policy aims to elevate educational qualifications across the country's teaching workforce.
