Salvors work to secure Russian shadow fleet ship leaking oil off Oman, risk firm Ambrey says

Salvage crews are working to secure the oil tanker Caroline Bezengi, a vessel identified as part of the Russian shadow fleet, after it began leaking oil off the coast of Oman. According to maritime risk firm Ambrey, the ongoing spill stems from an unexplained attack on the vessel that occurred in June.

The resulting spill has spread into the surrounding waters near a nature reserve and reached Oman's coastline on Wednesday. Response teams are actively engaged in containment and securing operations to mitigate further environmental damage to the affected coastal region.
